Do The 100 Day Project
I am so excited to officially announce here my commitment to participate in The 100 Day Project beginning February 23rd, 2025!
I first heard about The 100 Day Project on instagram when I was scrolling for art journaling inspo.
One of the core creatrix’s around the project this year, Lindsay Jean Thomson, popped into my field and I found the Substack page for the Project.
I also found an avid participants ecosystem (Roben-Marie Smith’s been doing “The Project” for like, eight years I think??).
Once the potent synnonicity dropped in next thouogh, I knew I was IN!
You see, 7 years earlier, I had written a blog post about a synchronistic moment with a book called “The Crossroads of Should & Must” by Elle Luna. Well, here’s the cool part, the next Creatrix to pop in related to the Project was her!
All of the sudden I was listening to this person, who had already inspired me YEARS before, inspire me yet again.
She was discussing creative forces in a reel where she was being interviewed on “The 100 Day Project Podcast”!!
Perhaps you had to be there, but hopefully you’re getting that I felt very led to the Project.
Over the years since I completed my formal art education (earning an AAS in Graphic design, an AA in Art, and a Bachelors in Art History) I haven’t made a ton of art.
My consistent practice through it all has been journaling, that’s how I’ve stayed creative: by “keeping a book”. The books are mostly pages upon pages of scrawled handwriting, with the occasional sketch here or there. But there are tons of them now.
Over the years since art school, I may not have made a huge pile of artwork, but I have still kept up with being creative with my writing practice. So it feels natural that paper will be my home for The 100 Day Project.
I have decided that my “Project” will be: Paper Art!
So here I am at the beginning, all ready and excited. Day 1 of the 100 days begins tomorrow and we go until June 2nd. I’m looking forward to who I’ll meet already, and where this journey - a deeply personal one at that - will take me.
So wish me luck!
They say there a million ways (boiled down to three) to approach this thing, so here goes. You can either:
Practice
Play -or-
Produce
I will be playing with collage, mixed media on paper, mini book making, sketching in my books and art journaling. This is all one big personal experiment and I can’t wait to see where it leads.
I will post about The Project most every day.
If you’re not already, feel free to give me a follow on instagram (@brennahdlayn @mudlotusarts). I’d love to connect over there.

If you were to devote yourself to a creative project a little a day for 100 days, what kind of project would YOU choose?
