Recently I was reflecting on four years of entrepreneurship. I realized that I have honed my business to work with my energy cycles and that has made all the difference. It’s made all the difference because I TOTALLY identify as a multipassionate person and creative. Maybe you do too?

Read on (& listen to the full podcast episode about it) to discover more about all things “multipassionate creative”.

There’s this thing that happens to a lot of us who love lots of things.

We start to wonder...
→ Am I doing this whole creative life wrong?
→ Shouldn’t I just pick one thing and focus?
→ Is it bad that I want to do ALL of it?

Sound familiar?

If you’ve ever felt like your creativity doesn’t fit in a neat little box — welcome to the club. You might just be what I call an interdisciplinary creative.

What is an interdisciplinary creative, anyway?

In this week’s episode of The Mud Lotus Podcast, I’m talking all about what it means to be an interdisciplinary or multi-passionate person.

Basically? It’s someone who loves making things in lots of different ways.

You might be someone who:
→ Cycles through hobbies like seasons
→ Gets obsessed with new skills just to see what happens
→ Feels bored doing the exact same thing forever
→ Connects dots across disciplines like art → spirituality → business → life
→ Has a business (or life!) that’s a little patchworky or unconventional

It’s not a flaw — it’s a feature.

Challenges of Moving This Way

Of course, it’s not always easy being someone with many creative lanes.

Some of the things that can come up:
→ Decision fatigue (which idea do I chase next??)
→ External pressure to niche down
→ Feeling scattered or like you “lack focus”
→ Internal stories about not being disciplined enough

But what I’ve learned over time is this: moving in seasons, cycles, and creative sprints is actually normal for people like us.

Your energy might naturally come in waves of full-steam-ahead followed by deep rest.

That doesn’t make you lazy or flaky — it makes you human. Especially a creative human.

So How Do You Actually Thrive as an Interdisciplinary Creative?

In my latest episode of The Mud Lotus Private Podcast, I talk about different ways I thrive as a multipassionate creative.

Here’s what’s helped me:

→ Batch your energy when it’s high
→ Take real, guilt-free rest when you need it
→ Find collaborators who get the way you move
→ Let your creativity be the boss sometimes
→ Remember you’re playing the long game

And most of all?
Trust that your unique way of weaving all your passions together is your magic.

Wanna Go Deeper Into This Conversation?

This is exactly what I’m unpacking in this week’s full episode of The Mud Lotus Podcast.

We’re talking about:
→ How to recognize if this is you
→ Why retreat planning is my favorite interdisciplinary art form
→ Personal stories from my own many creative eras
→ The permission slip I wish I had sooner
