Creativity Heals Journal Prompts

You Found a Zine in the Wild 🌱

Hi friend —

If you’re here, it may mean you spotted a “Creativity Heals” zine out in the world and decided to scan the QR code. I’m so glad you did.

Welcome.

These little one-sheet booklets are part of my ongoing experiment: to scatter tiny creative sparks out in the world — in Little Free Libraries, on café tables, sometimes tucked into Happy Mail kits — because I believe creativity is medicine.

A Few Gentle Reminders:

Creativity asks us to slow down and notice.
Creativity asks us to feel our feelings and express them — out loud or quietly.

You don’t have to call yourself an artist to be creative.
You don’t need fancy supplies.
You don’t even need a lot of time.

Creativity is a way of tending your inner life — noticing, playing, expressing.
That’s what this little zine was made to remind you.

Bonus Journaling Prompts ✏️

You can use these in a journal, on the back of the zine itself, or even as quick notes on your phone. There’s no wrong way!

  1. What’s something small and beautiful I noticed today?

  2. If my feelings had colors or textures right now, what would they be?

  3. Where do I feel most like myself when I’m creating — at a table, outdoors, with friends, alone?

  4. What tiny creative act could I do in the next ten minutes to soothe or delight myself?

  5. When have I felt healed, even a little, by making something — a doodle, a song, a meal, a page in a notebook?

Take your time with them. These aren’t assignments — just invitations.

Why I Make Zines Like This

I’ve been journaling for over twenty years and making zines for a good chunk of that time. Every fold and stamp is an invitation to remember: you have a voice and it matters.

Distributing them in little libraries is my way of sending out tiny paper lanterns — each one carrying the hope that someone who needs a gentle nudge toward creativity will find it.

Stay Connected

If this zine found you at the right moment, there are a couple of ways we can keep in touch:

I’m so glad our paths crossed. May your own creative spark keep you company.
